Block Island is a popular island to visit 9 miles south of the mainland of Rhode Island. Popular Crescent Beach is one of the East Coast’s sandy beaches. Built-in 1867, North Lighthouse and Sachem Pond, a haven for gulls and swallows, are located on the northernmost point of the island. There are numerous beaches on Block Island, one of which is Ballard’s Beach, which is near the ferry dock and includes live music, food, and drink options. Mohegan Bluffs, renowned for its breathtaking vistas and the steep stairs descending to the shore, is another popular beach spot. There are a lot of historical sites to see, such as North Lighthouse, which is reachable by a lovely walk on the island’s northern tip, or Southeast Lighthouse, a historic lighthouse with a small museum and stunning views. These are two of Block Island’s most popular lighthouse attractions.

Ferry transportation provides year round ferry service to & from Block Island. There is so much to choose from, including several dining options and seasonal activities. Shops, eateries, and cafes line Water Street, the main thoroughfare. Numerous restaurants with bay views are available at Old Bay.

Among the happenings is the twice-weekly Block Island Farmers Market, which features regional goods including crafts and veggies. Every June, Block Island Race Week is a significant sailing occasion. Summertime music festival showcasing local and regional artists every year. Block Island is the ideal peaceful vacation destination, offering a wide range of entertainment options and things to do.

Visitors are encouraged to pick up a free destination guide from the local visitors center or tourism information center. Local guides include accommodations, attractions, water activities, events & festivals, and popular restaurants.
